When the Mail app for Windows 8 first came out, the options were limited. One of the missing options was the ability to configure IMAP accounts. How to add email accounts to Windows Mail
This feature means that the app is no longer tied to specific email services like Hotmail, Exchange, Gmail, etc. Now any email account can be added to the Win 8 app. This is of course possible if you have the settings at hand and know how to set them up. Follow the steps below to accomplish this task:
1. From the Home screen, open the Mail app.
2. Use the keyboard shortcut +C to open the Charm bar and click Options.
