Microsoft plans to have Windows 10 running on one billion devices in the next three years. One approach the company is taking to achieve this goal is to offer the new operating system as a free upgrade to customers who are running a genuine copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
Unfortunately, the offer is only available for the first year of Windows 10. It starts on July 29, 2015 and ends on July 29, 2016.
