How to get Windows 10 after the free upgrade year offer ends on July 29 (step-by-step)
Microsoft plans to have Windows 10 running on one billion devices in the next three years. One approach the company is taking to achieve this goal is to offer the new operating system as a free upgrade to customers who are running a genuine copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
Unfortunately, the offer is only available for the first year of Windows 10. It starts on July 29, 2015 and ends on July 29, 2016.
If you haven't updated your computer to the new operating system after July 29, 2016, you'll have to pay $119 for the full version of Windows 10 Home and even more for Windows 10 Pro.
