Today, at the WinHEC conference in China, the software giant revealed some more details about Windows 10, including that pirated copies of Windows will also be eligible for a free upgrade, but also revealed some details about the upgrade path options.

Microsoft offers two ways to upgrade to Windows 10: the first is via an ISO file and the second is to use Windows Update.

Windows 8 and Windows 7 users can use the ISO file to create installation media or use the upgrade process using Windows Update to move to Windows 10. However, some versions of Windows require an ISO file to upgrade, as you can see in the Upgrade Matrix screenshot below.
