How to translate emails in Gmail? Translate to English or any language
Google just brought Gmail Labs' "Automatic Message Translation" to the mainstream. Now, every time you receive an email in a language other than the default language in your account, it will be translated.
The first thing you'll notice above the message is a banner with the name of the detected language and right next to it, your Gmail's default language. If everything is correct, you can click "Translate message" to do just that. If you want every message in a certain language to be automatically translated, just click the "Always translate" link on the far right of the banner. And of course, if you're bilingual, you can turn the feature off at any time. Just look for the "Disable for: [language]" link on the right side of the banner.
Because Google translates your emails depending on the default language in your account, the current default language may not be your native language. If you want to correct this, simply navigate to your account settings (https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#settings/general), select your language from the dropdown menu, then scroll down the page and click "Save Changes".
