We expect Microsoft to launch Windows 10 in 190 countries over the summer. However, the company does not plan to roll out the new operating system on all devices at the same time. According to the software maker, Windows 10 will launch in several staggered events in the fall, focusing on different platforms with each launch.
Microsoft will begin rolling out Windows 10 to desktop PCs later this summer. However, during the BUILD 2015 press event, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore explained that the phone experience will be adapted later than the PC experience. This means that the company is taking its time to finish the mobile version of Windows 10 – so we will see the release at a later date.
Belfiore also confirms that many devices and features will not be available on the launch date, but shortly afterward. Microsoft's goal is to get Windows 10 for the desktop ready as soon as possible, and other devices like phone, Xbox, Surface Hub, and HoloLens will arrive at a later date.
