Windows 10 Build 18290: Hands-on experience with Start menu, time synchronization and more
Windows 10 includes a new Start menu that aims to replace the Start screen we used to use in the previous version of the operating system. The new menu combines the familiar design of the Windows 7 Start menu with Live Tiles from Windows 8.1. Starting with Windows 10 Build 10547 and above, the software giant is improving the experience by allowing users to display more tiles on the Start screen.
As you probably know, when the operating system was first introduced, the Start menu only supported up to 3 columns of medium-sized tiles. However, for many users, this was not enough. Many users often found that using the Start menu in full-screen mode or in tablet mode wasted a lot of space.
After receiving a lot of feedback, Microsoft is addressing the issue and adding a new option to the Settings app that allows users to insert a fourth column with support for up to two large or four medium tiles per group.
