When Microsoft released the preview of Windows 8.1, one of the changes was the full integration of SkyDrive. Finally, users no longer had to download and install separate software to sync or access documents using Microsoft's cloud service.

However, one of the complaints was that there was no option to move the SkyDrive root folder to another location or hard drive. Microsoft said it was aware of the issue but did not specify when this problem would be resolved for many.

Fast forward to the recently leaked version of Windows 8.1, SkyDrive shows some changes in Build 9471. Users can go to This PC, right-click on SkyDrive, go to Properties, and on the Locations tab, they can now change the location of the SkyDrive root folder. This can be a different folder, drive, or a network folder.
