How to set the desktop wallpaper as the Start screen background in Windows 8.1
Over the last few weeks I have covered a lot of things related to Windows 8, such as how to install Windows 8 in a virtual machine, how to dual-boot the new operating system with Windows 7, and how to bring back the classic Windows 7 Start menu with just one click. This week I came across a small portable application called Windows 8 Start Tweaker. This is a simple but really useful application that allows you to change the background color of the login and the new Metro Start screen wallpaper with a couple of clicks.
Once you open the application, you will see your current default color and image, in this case the green login background color and the home screen background image, also green -Oh! The application is not in English by default, don't forget to click on the US flag before launching-. You can change one or both settings, just click on the "Metro Wallpaper" or "Metro Background Color" image to change the defaults.
When you're done, click Apply, sign out, and then sign back in to see the new login screen color and home screen background image.
