3 Ways to Check CPU Generation of Laptops and PCs on Windows 10/11/8/7 || Check Intel Processor Generation

Even if you purchased a new desktop computer or laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, that doesn't necessarily mean you have the latest or fastest processor.

Intel and other chip makers used to label their processors by gigahertz speed, and the higher the number, the better. But since hertz isn't a true indicator of a processor's performance, Intel changed its chip naming scheme with the Core series to steer its marketing away from frequency.

Aside from the Pentium, there are four different groups of consumer processors today, including the Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9. While a higher number means more power, more features, and more money, a Core i7 on a laptop is not the same as a Core i7 on a desktop computer, and a Core i5 that came out in 2017 is not the same as a Core i5 that came out in 2016.
