Port forwarding in RouterOS
The most common need for port forwarding is when gaming online, but there are other circumstances where you may want to forward ports. For example, if you need to connect from the Internet to your FTP server, or simply connect to your VPN server to access your home computer remotely.
Often when you try to connect to something, such as an FTP server, the router will block the data transfer. The solution is to open the appropriate port in the router to allow the data to pass through. Depending on the application, you may need to open or forward certain ports to make them work.
Connect to your router's web interface. You can usually get there by typing http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 into the address bar and using your username and password.
