Perhaps one of the best features of Windows 8.1 is the recovery feature, which allows you to easily upgrade or restore Windows 8/8.1 to factory settings with just a few clicks. Depending on which option you choose in your situation, you can quickly start fresh with the operating system while retaining all your files and settings, or reset the system to start over.
These recovery features work amazingly well, but only if you have the recovery installation media or a recovery image stored on your system.
However, you can only perform a recovery if the system's hard drive is working and the image has not been corrupted.
