Enable Aero Glass transparency in Windows 8
The Aero desktop experience is an appealing visual effect in Windows introduced with Windows Vista. It features a translucent glass design with new window animations and colors. However, some people will not want to use it all the time. For those who want to use the Windows Basic desktop experience, here's a tip on how to enable Aero transparency without using the Aero theme in Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
1. On the Windows desktop, right-click on an empty space to bring up the menu and click Personalization.
2. Click Window Color at the bottom of the page, and then uncheck Enable Transparency.
