How do I use Copilot in OneNote? | Mastering Microsoft 365 Copilot products
In OneNote, Copilot should be enabled automatically after you sign up for Microsoft 365 Personal or Family and purchase the “Copilot Pro” subscription. However, if it's still missing, I'll show you how to do it in this guide. Copilot Pro is the subscription Microsoft requires you to have to access the advanced version of the chatbot AI, which is based on Copilot (free) but offers some additional benefits. For example, the $20 per month (per user) subscription gives you priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo, improved AI image creation, the ability to create custom GPTs (coming soon), and access to the chatbot from Microsoft 365 Apps.
Copilot's capabilities always depend on the application. In the case of OneNote, the chatbot AI can help you create content, including texts, pages, and more. In the UI, you can also ask Copilot to do virtually anything, including creating a list, summarizing notes, retrieving information, generating ideas, and more.
If you have both subscriptions but OneNote is missing the "Copilot" feature, you will need to reconfigure the application. I encountered this issue and the solution was to update the license using the available option in Settings. If the option is not available, you may need to reinstall Microsoft 365 Apps to get everything working.
