Device encryption is temporarily suspended in Windows 11/10/8 BitLocker
If you enable device encryption in Windows 11 (or 10), after restarting the computer, the system may get stuck with the message "Device encryption is temporarily suspended. Encryption will automatically resume the next time this device is restarted."
Although encryption will resume automatically in some situations, it is not always the case. If after several restarts, File Explorer still shows the drive locked and the Settings app still shows the same message, you can use some troubleshooting steps to resume encryption on your device.
