FIX Surface Pro Wi-Fi Not Working on Windows 10 [2024]

Wireless networks can sometimes experience unpredictable connection issues as there are many factors that can affect signal strength. There could be a problem with your router, the environment around your devices, antenna issues, drivers and another type of software or wireless adapter. However, if you have a Surface Pro 4 and are experiencing a slow wireless connection, you have probably encountered a known issue that causes a slow Wi-Fi network connection with certain access points.

This issue first surfaced on the Microsoft forums, where a Surface Pro 4 owner explained that the internet connection dropped from 17 Mbps to under 2 Mbps during a Speedtest.net test. User JymMuller also explained that he owns a Comcast Wi-Fi dual-band modem with speeds up to 150 Mbps.

In a response, Joe, a Microsoft employee, explained that this is a known issue with Surface Pro 4 tablets, with owners experiencing slow throughput on certain access points. "The issue only affects MAC layer aggregation (AMSDU over AMPDU) and only affects a small subset of access points. We are working on a fix for an upcoming update. Until the fix is available, please update the registry key setting to work around this issue."
