NEW! Disable annoying ads on Windows 11 (2024) – Complete guide
In Windows 11, the Start menu is getting a new Account Manager experience that affects the options for locking and signing out your computer and changes the user switching workflow. In this guide, I'll explain what's changing and where to find the options.
Starting with the June 2024 Update, Microsoft has begun gradually rolling out the new Account Manager menu in the Start menu, replacing the Profile menu. The new design reminds you to back up your files to the cloud and alerts you to any actions you need to take in your account. In addition, you can see at a glance your cloud storage usage and see which services are active and about to expire if you are signed in with a Microsoft account.
As a result of these changes, some of the options in the Profile menu are now in different places. For example, the Log Off and Switch User options are no longer in a submenu, and the option to lock your computer appears in the Power Options menu. (You'll also notice that this menu no longer lists the other users configured on the computer.)
