In Learning the Basics of Navigating Windows 8 with a Mouse and Keyboard (Part 1), we looked at the new Lock Screen, the new "Start Button," and how to use the Start Screen. We also looked at how to switch between running apps and how to use the charms to move around Windows 8's new interface. I got a lot more navigation tips in Part 2, which continues with navigating Windows 8, so let's get right into it:

Windows 8 – Four ways to open My Computer (with mouse and keyboard)
To launch an app, just tap or click the live tile on the Windows 8 Start screen. This will bring up the loading screen, and since all Windows 8 apps are Chrome-free, the app will fill the screen. Quitting and returning to the Start screen is also easy: just tap . You can also tap the WinKey button again to return to the app.
To access the properties of an individual tile, just right-click on it and the app commands will appear. Depending on the app's capability, you'll be presented with different options like "Smaller" or "Bigger." This will make the tile either a large rectangle or a small square. If you notice a lot of tiles flashing new content or images — what we'll call "Live Tiles" for now — you can also click "Disable Live Tile" in the app commands if it's causing distractions. Other options include "Uninstall" or "Unpin from Start."
Because Windows 8 apps take up the entire screen, application menus are a thing of the past. To access options and settings for a specific Metro-style app, right-click the current app and the app commands will appear at the top and/or bottom.
