Download Windows 8.1 ISO file with Windows 8 retail key step by step
Shortly after this issue first appeared, I published a second guide to help users install, but it required an online search for the "Generic Key for Windows 8.1," a serial number that only allowed you to continue, but after installation required you to update the system with the paid Windows 8 product key.
Now I found another interesting trick documented by Microsoft that allows you to bypass the product key screen and reinstall Windows 8.1 using the ISO file without the Windows 8 product key. After installation and during the Out Of the Box Experience (OOBE), you will be asked to enter a key again and only then will your Windows 8 key work. However, you can skip this step and do it later.
Let’s dive into the step-by-step guide.
