With Windows 8.1, Microsoft is also introducing Internet Explorer 11, a new version of the popular web browser that brings new changes and features focused on the touch-first experience, something Microsoft has been emphasizing since the launch of Windows 8. Windows 8.1 tip: Pin any URL to the Start screen with IE11

1. In IE 11's modern app, favorite the webpage you want to pin. Press +Z to bring up the app commands, then click or tap the star button.

2. Next, click the pin icon in the top right corner of Favorites. (This is also interesting because apparently Internet Explorer 11 can now generate thumbnails that you can use to personalize the tile that appears on the Start page.) Select one of the pin styles and click Pin to Start.

Now go back to the home screen and your newly created tile should appear. That's all you need to do.
