First look at the NEW Photos app in Windows 11
In Windows 11 (and 10), you can use the Photos app to remove distracting elements from images. In this guide, I'll show you how to complete this editing process.
Starting with version 2024.11020.21001.0 and later, the Photos app includes a new Generative Erasing feature that uses artificial intelligence to help you correct and remove things on images by circling or highlighting other things you want to erase, similar to the Magic Eraser feature in Android.
Technically, this feature is the Spot Fix feature, but it has now been updated with AI. According to the company, it "produces a more seamless and realistic result after objects are erased from the photo, even when erasing large areas." The Erase option is available on the Windows 11 and 10 versions of the Photos app, as well as on Arm64 devices.
