In Windows 10, it is possible to reset the Windows Terminal app settings if you want to go back to the default configuration because you want to start over or because you are struggling with errors and other problems.

When you change the global settings or individual profiles (Command Prompt, PowerShell, and WSL) of the Windows Terminal using the Settings UI or JSON option, the app saves the configuration in the Settings.json file and automatically creates a backup copy each time you save changes.

If you have problems running Windows Terminal after making configuration changes, you can always clear the contents or delete the file to reset the terminal settings to default.
