Hard Reset MICROSOFT Lumia 950 – How to perform a factory reset in Windows
There is no such thing as the perfect smartphone. No matter which one you own, it's only a matter of time before you need to factory reset your handset because things aren't working as they should.
If you are the proud owner of a Windows 10 Mobile handset, there will come a time when the phone stops working properly. For example, I recently received the Lumia Home Trial Kit to participate in the Lumia Home Trial campaign (#LumiaVoicesTrial) and after setting up the Lumia 950 handset, the home screen didn't work and I couldn't access any settings – I just got a black screen. I had access to the home button but that didn't work either. I turned the phone off and on several times waiting for a change but nothing happened.
At this point, I no longer have access to the Settings app to use the Reset Phone option on the System page or the Home screen. My only solution was to reset the Lumia 950 to its original factory settings and then try again – a process that ultimately fixed the problem.
