Windows 8 has had a bumpy ride, Windows 8.1 brought with it many necessary improvements and soon Windows 8.1 Update 1 will bring a handful of more changes and features to the operating system. One of these changes is the introduction of a context menu on the Start screen to help users with a keyboard and mouse access various options quickly and easily.

Configure Windows 8 app to download updates automatically and fix apps that won't update
However, those who are used to the now-old app bar – the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen when you right-click on a tile with available options for a particular app – will be happy to hear that it is not going away.
If you've already installed the RTM version of Windows 8.1 Update 1 (also known as Windows 8.1 Spring Update or Windows Feature Pack), you can skip the right-click context menu and go straight to the old app bar. And you can do that as easily as pressing the space bar on your keyboard every time you're on the Start screen.
If you want to select multiple live tiles, just press the spacebar, click on the tiles you want with your mouse and the app bar will show you the corresponding options. When you're done, just click on an empty space or press the ESC key.
