Internet Explorer 10 Overview
In this latest version, IE10 has significantly improved HTML5 support and developers can start working on web applications using multiple site-ready HTML5 technologies for better performance and increased security. Microsoft has published over 270 new tests in the Internet Explorer Test Center and submitted them to the standards bodies. You can find all of these tests in Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 2 (here is the full list):
"IE10 continues the precedent set by IE9, allowing web applications to do more in the browser without plug-ins. It also continues the pattern of offloading work to the parts of a PC best suited for it, like the GPU for graphics and different processor cores for background JavaScript compilation," said Dean Hachamovitch, the lead of the IE team at Microsoft. "Because different browsers support developers using the same markup to achieve the same results with great performance, we can all deliver on the promise of HTML5 applications."
Internet Explorer 10 is expected to be available only for Windows 7 and in the next version of Microsoft's operating system, codenamed Windows 8. Future versions of IE10 PP will be available in cycles of 8 to 12 weeks, and there may be a beta release before the end of the year.
