The intrusive prompts to upgrade to Windows 10 on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs will soon be a thing of the past. Microsoft is ending its "Get Windows 10" app marketing campaign and will remove the notifications after the operating system's one-year anniversary – July 29, 2016.

The company confirmed the news in a statement to WinBeta, noting that annoying upgrade notifications will be disabled and then completely removed from any qualified PC.
