Microsoft fixes AMD CPU performance issues on Windows 11 with new update
Microsoft and AMD are providing fixes for the performance issues that occurred during the initial release of Windows 11 on computers with AMD Ryzen processors.
Shortly after the release of Windows 11, Microsoft and AMD confirmed that the new version caused compatibility issues that resulted in performance degradation of up to 15 percent on Ryzen processors.
Then the company released a follow-up update to fix these issues, among others, but the update made things worse. However, a few days later, Microsoft released another cumulative update (KB5006746) as a preview for Insiders to fix the issue with AMD processors. The same update is now available as an optional update for the stable version of Windows 11, and anyone can download it from the Windows Update settings page.
