In fact, the rumors were true: Microsoft took the stage at the Surface event in New York City this week to unveil the Surface Pro 3, not the Surface mini as many of us expected.

Surface Pro 3 – Finally a tablet that can replace your laptop?!?
The new tablet looks fantastic. It is 12 inches in size and can be equipped with a Core i7 processor. The Surface Pro 3 has a screen resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels (at 216 ppi, significantly more than the 208 ppi of the Surface Pro 2) and an aspect ratio of 3:2, which is unusual for this Microsoft device. It is only 9.1 mm thick and weighs only 800 grams.
The new Surface Pro 3 is really thin, super quiet and tall. However, one feature that the company has improved is the kickstand, which now includes a 150-degree canvas mode, which the company says improves “lapability.” Basically, the kickstand can now be set to 22 degrees and from there it can be put at any angle up to 150 degrees. As for the battery life of this new powerhouse tablet, users can expect “up to nine hours,” according to the company.
Natural handwriting was also a key part of the presentation, as the new device comes with a Bluetooth stylus that also includes a button on the top that allows users to wake up the device and go straight to OneNote, even when it's locked. Of course, if the device is already on, a press of the button will simply open the note-taking app.
