Surface battery tips and tricks – 2021 update!
Surface Pro 3 devices are now receiving a new firmware update to fix the draining battery issue. If you own a Surface Pro 3, you were probably aware of the draining battery issue with the Simplo batteries.
After numerous user reports, Microsoft admitted that it was indeed a battery issue. The company then confirmed that it was not a problem with the Simplo batteries themselves and that the issue could be resolved through a software update.
Today, Microsoft has completed testing and is rolling out “System Firmware Update – 08/29/2016,” which permanently fixes the discharge issue on a small number of devices.
