Explanation of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update
Microsoft is gearing up to release the Windows 10 Anniversary Update later this summer. The new update is expected to bring a whole host of changes and features, including improvements to Cortana, a redesigned Start menu, a more unified core across all platforms (PC, tablet, phone, and Xbox), and more. However, PCs will apparently need to be a bit more powerful to cope with the operating system.
According to a Microsoft developer site, Microsoft is increasing the minimum system requirements. The upcoming Anniversary Update for Windows 10 will require at least 2 GB of RAM for the 32-bit version. This is double the previous requirement of 1 GB that has existed since Windows Vista and corresponds to the minimum requirement of 2 GB of RAM for the 64-bit version of the operating system.
The minimum system requirements change, but not dramatically. Aside from the increase in memory requirements to 2GB for the 32-bit version of Windows 10, the minimum requirements remain the same.
