Meet the new Microsoft Surface Pro
Microsoft launched the successor to the Surface RT, Surface 2, back in 2013. Since then, the software giant has also released the successful Surface Pro 3, but a Surface 3 has been particularly missing so far.
Both Surface 2 and Surface RT run Windows RT, a version of the operating system that runs on ARM-based processors, and as we all know, Microsoft is abandoning that version in favor of a new version of Windows 10 tailored for mobile devices.
So it was unclear if the company would ever release a non-Pro version of its tablet. We even knew that Microsoft was planning to release a Surface Mini, but the tablet was discontinued shortly before the Surface Pro 3 launched.
