Today is Patch Tuesday, August 2013, and Microsoft is releasing eight new updates that address remote code execution, denial of service, privilege escalation, and information disclosure in Windows 8, Windows RT, Server, and earlier versions of the operating system. This new batch includes three updates labeled "Critical" and the other four labeled "Important."

Windows 11: Upgrade from Windows 10 via Windows Update (official)
Of the eight updates, Windows 8 will receive four, three of which are marked as important to fix remote code execution and denial-of-service issues. And the fourth is marked as critical and aims to patch Internet Explorer 10. Windows RT, on the other hand, will receive three of the updates and also the critical patch for IE10.
As always, Microsoft is not releasing any more detailed information until the company officially makes the updates available to everyone.
We may also see a new firmware update for Surface RT. Microsoft often releases new firmware with each Patch Tuesday, but that didn't happen last month. So the new firmware update is behind schedule and some issues need to be addressed.
