Security fixes for Microsoft Edge are here and fix 8 security vulnerabilities!
Microsoft has not yet provided further details about the updates as a security measure, but when updates are classified as critical security updates, they refer to security vulnerabilities that could allow remote code execution without user interaction.
Windows 8 receives six critical updates, Windows RT only five. The update marked as important is aimed at Windows Defender for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
All of the updates released today cover all major versions of the operating system, from Windows XP to Windows 7 to Windows 8 to Windows Server. However, none of the Patch Tuesday July 2013 updates apply to Windows 8.1 Preview or Windows 8.1 RT Preview. This means that those testing the preview will not see any of these updates.
