Get security updates for Windows 8.1 until 2026!
Since support has been permanently discontinued, there will no longer be any updates for Windows XP, although the operating system is affected according to Microsoft bulletins.
The May Patch Tuesday security updates fix various vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Windows. In this round of updates, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 receive a critical update for IE 11 and three important updates. Windows RT also receives the two critical updates, but only two of the six important updates.
Microsoft is also extending the grace period, giving users an additional 30 days to install the Windows 8.1 update. This new extension allows the current Windows 8.1 to be installed without an "update" on May 13, 2014, Patch Tuesday. For users still using Windows 8.1, it is recommended to install the update as soon as possible to avoid missing out on future updates.
