Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Update
Also in preparation for the release of Windows 8.1, Microsoft has released a firmware update for Surface Pro that must be installed before updating to 8.1 on October 18. Here's what you'll find in this update:
Of the eight new Windows updates for October, four are marked as critical and address remote code execution for .NET Framework, Internet Explorer, and Windows. The remaining four updates are marked as important and also address remote code execution and information disclosure for Windows, Office, and Silverlight.
The rollout will begin soon. I'll update this article as more details become available. Remember, you can update manually by going to Control Panel, clicking Windows Update, then clicking Check for updates, or you can wait until the next reboot and the updates will install automatically.
