Microsoft will reportedly unveil new AI integrations like ChatGPT for its Office applications in the coming weeks. According to a new report from The Verge, the software giant is gearing up to demonstrate new AI features for Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint shortly after the launch of its AI-powered version of Bing.
According to the report, the company plans to announce the integration of OpenAI's AI speech technology and its Prometheus model for its Office apps sometime in March, another effort by the company to continue to rapidly integrate AI into its products thanks to Google.
While it's still unclear what features will be announced, according to a previous report from The Information, the software giant has already tested the text-generating GPT model in the desktop version of Word to improve the autocomplete feature and spelling. In Outlook, for example, the company plans to use AI to improve search results without using a specific keyword and suggest email replies. And for PowerPoint, Microsoft is working on generating charts and graphs.
