Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass plans are a mess, raising prices and locking exclusive offers into more expensive plans from day one
Microsoft will increase the prices of its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions in September 2024. In addition, the company plans to offer a new Xbox Game Pass Standard, which will not offer any new games on day one.
Currently, the Game Pass Ultimate subscription costs $16.99, but starting September 12, 2024, the price will rise to $19.99, a rapid increase of $3 per month (or $36 per year).
The current price of PC Game Pass is $9.99, but it will rise to $11.99 in September, a $2 monthly increase (or $24 per year). The "good news" is that this tier will retain titles from day one.
