A few days after the newly discovered vulnerability in Internet Explorer (versions 9, 8, 7 and 6), which could potentially endanger a large number of Windows PCs, Microsoft has provided a temporary solution to the problem in the form of a Windows Fix it (kb2757760). An update is also planned for this Friday that should fix the problem permanently.

Windows 8.1: Microsoft provides fix for Internet Explorer security vulnerability
The exploit, discovered over the weekend, could allow malware to bypass security protocols via Flash and infect XP, Vista and Windows 7 machines. In a new article, the company said there is now a fix for it and it is easy to apply: "This is a simple one-click solution that will protect your computer immediately. It will not impact your ability to browse the Internet and does not require you to restart your computer."
While the Fix it (Microsoft Fix it 50939 and 50938) provides protection against the vulnerability, Microsoft strongly recommends IE users to install the security update scheduled for Friday via Windows Update. To learn all the steps to install Microsoft Fix it for Internet Explorer, follow these instructions.
