Windows 8.1 is dead 😭
According to Sinofsky, the new updates will improve performance, power management and battery efficiency, compatibility, and media playback. These new Windows updates are available starting today for users currently running the RTM version of Windows 8 – the cumulative updates are 180 MB in size in total.
There is a gap of 8-12 weeks between the RTM and retail versions of the operating system and Microsoft releases the updates within this time span instead of waiting and releasing the first service pack. The software giant is obviously trying to give its customers the best Windows experience possible from day one. Considering that the operating system already faces many challenges such as the new user interface, users have to relearn many things including navigating the operating system and understanding the new application model.
