Windows 10 Tutorial: Remove the Settings app sidebar from the Start screen
Since the introduction of Settings in Windows 8, we have been speculating that Control Panel will one day be gone in Windows. In Windows 10, Microsoft is improving the Settings app and more Control Panel settings are added in each new build.
Until today, one of the unanswered questions was: What will the future of the Control Panel look like in Windows 10? It should come as no surprise that Microsoft wants to remove the old Control Panel from its operating system.
In a new tweet, Microsoft's Gabriel Aul confirms that the company is slowly migrating all Control Panel options to the new Settings app. This means that in the not too near future, all Windows configurations will be accessible through the Settings app and the Control Panel will no longer be there.
