Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1
Microsoft publishes the list of Skylake devices that will support Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. Previously, the company announced drastic changes to its hardware support policy and stated that older versions of Windows would no longer support new processors.
From now on, only the latest operating system will support new hardware. However, the company also announced that Windows 8.1 and 7 will continue to support the latest processors, but only on a select number of devices until July 17, 2018.
Today, the company updated its support page and published a list of over 100 computer models from Dell, HP, Lenovo and NEC that run earlier versions of Windows and are compatible with the latest sixth-generation Intel Skylake processors.
