New Xbox One Experience: Preview Program
The new Xbox One experience will roll out to all gaming consoles worldwide starting November 12 at 3:01 a.m. ET (12:01 a.m. PT). The new update is a big milestone, in part because the Xbox One operating system is finally moving away from Windows 8 and moving to Windows 10. In fact, the exact version that consoles will receive on November 12, 2015 is 10.0.10586.1006 (th2_xbox_rel_1510.151107-2322) fre, which also aligns with the Windows 10 Fall Update that users will soon receive on PCs and Windows 10 Mobile devices.
The new version of the operating system for Xbox One is designed to make the experience faster and more comprehensive. In addition, the new dashboard deviates from the tile design and instead offers a Windows 10 look and feel that is very close to the Xbox app for Windows 10.
The update also brings backwards compatibility for Xbox One, allowing users to transfer and play their Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One.
