New Windows 11 leak – Notepad with tabs
Microsoft plans to update its Notepad app to support tabs on Windows 11. An employee originally leaked a screenshot that showed an early version of Notepad with tabs and a warning advising employees not to discuss features or take screenshots.
Although a screenshot made it onto the internet despite the warning, it was deleted from Twitter by the author of the tweet (via Neowin). Others managed to repost the screenshot, but they too deleted the post shortly afterwards.
The tabbed interface works just like tabs in File Explorer and browser. Instead of opening multiple instances of the note app, you can work on multiple text files in the same instance of Notepad.
