Microsoft has made many tweaks and improvements to its Surface Pro 4. But no matter what changes have been made or how perfectly the operating system is programmed, at some point you will need to reset your tablet to factory settings, be it due to a system error or simply because you want to sell your tablet to someone else.
However, depending on the circumstances, you can use the built-in reset feature in Windows 10 to go back to factory settings without losing your data or wiping everything and starting over. However, if you can't boot your Surface Pro 4 or things just aren't working as they should, you may need to use the recovery image to repair your tablet.
Fortunately, Microsoft has updated its support page for the Surface line of devices and now users can download the recovery image for any Surface device including Surface Pro 4, Surface Book, Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 2, Surface 3, Surface 2, and Surface RT.
