Most people would agree that Firefox 4 is a great piece of software with lots of new features and improvements and is now even faster than previous versions. But as you may have noticed, despite the improved startup time, Firefox still takes a while to start. Apparently, it was difficult for the Firefox team to really understand and integrate an even faster load time optimization into the browser. So if you are one of those Firefox users who never finds startup fast enough, Start Faster is the add-on you need and it will allow you to start Firefox really fast. This is a work in progress, so you can use this add-on until the developers can properly integrate this type of optimization into the core of the browser.

How to Fix Firefox Running Slow 🚀 👩🔧 (2022)
Start Faster only works with Windows Vista and Windows 7 for now. In case you're curious, here's what the add-on does: It installs a service in Windows that speeds up the loading time of Firefox's Gorilla-like DLL libraries; this service runs under administrative privileges and allows Firefox to bypass the Windows prefetcher, reducing Firefox's startup time by up to two times. Note that after installing the Start Faster add-on, a shortcut named Faster Firefox is added to the desktop, which you will now use to launch Firefox faster.
This idea is not new. Mozilla has been trying to implement this optimization for a long time, so you can consider it a preview of what's to come. Hopefully, in later versions of Firefox, this will be integrated into the core.
