It's back, folks! The popular backup feature is returning to Windows 8.1. If you remember, Microsoft renamed it to "Windows 7 File Recovery" in Windows 8, and in the Windows 8.1 Preview, the option was nowhere to be found. But to my surprise, the ability to create a full backup of the entire PC has returned when I looked at one of the latest leaks of Windows 8.1 (Build 9471).

How to create a Windows 8.1 image backup (or full backup)
The only change is the name, now it's called "System Image Backup", which just makes sense. Everything else works the same as before. If you are still new to the backup process, I recommend you read this Windows guide: How to Create a Windows 8.1 System Image Backup (Step by Step) that I wrote earlier. There you will find all the instructions on how to perform a full backup of your system.
I noticed (and I don't know the reason why) that the Image Backup tool is not browseable from the Control Panel or Start screen. However, you can simply go to File History and notice the "System Image Backup" link (see featured image) in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Previously, when Microsoft removed this feature from the operating system, I wrote another guide that required a bit of PowerShell knowledge. Even though that guide accomplished the same thing, using a command-line tool isn't for everyone, so this will make the process much easier for many users.
