How to Fix Start Button and Charm Bar/Side Corners Not Working in Windows 8/8.1
The new button has the same shape and form as the Start button in the Charms bar, and behaves the same way (if you hover over it, you'll notice the button change color). It's on the left side of the taskbar (where else, right?), as in previous versions; on the Start screen, however, it's not visible until you hover over the bottom-left corner of the screen. And remember, it's just for switching between experiences—the Start menu isn't coming back.
