Following the success of Blue, Microsoft is already preparing for the next wave of Windows updates. Today we learned that the software giant has codenamed the project "Threshold." According to Microsoft observer Mary Jo Foley, the company plans to release Threshold on all three platforms (Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox One) in spring 2015.

The most common problems with Windows updates
The new information was confirmed by reliable, unnamed sources familiar with the project, who mentioned that Microsoft Executive Vice President Terry Myerson recently mentioned the name "Threshold" as a code name in an email to the engineering group at Microsoft.
As the company moves forward, the Windows, Windows Phone, and Xbox One operating systems are well on their way to leveraging a more unified programming ecosystem.
While we don't yet know what Microsoft will include in the Threshold Update and whether this update is indeed the "Blue" successor, we do know that this version will not unify all three operating systems into a single version of Windows or even merge Windows RT and Windows Phone OS.
