Windows 10 Anniversary Update: Demo of the new notification badges in the start menu and taskbar
At the Build 2016 developer conference in San Francisco, Microsoft presented improvements and features of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which mainly focus on improving the Action Center and toast notifications.
During a technical session, the company also shared more details about Toast Notifications and Live Tiles, including adaptive and interactive notifications, trackable Live Tiles, Action Center improvements, and more. However, something has surfaced on the taskbar that Microsoft hasn't actually talked about – namely, the new taskbar notification badges.
As you can see in the image below, tweeted by Microsoft's Jen Gentleman, the upcoming Anniversary Update will include notification icons with counters for universal Windows apps in the taskbar.
