Windows 11, 10: Fix CrowdStrike Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) after faulty driver update

UPDATED 7/22/2024: If your organization uses cybersecurity company CrowdStrike on Windows 11 (or 10) and your computer crashes with a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) with error 0x50 or 0x7E, you can use these instructions to quickly get the device up and running again.

As part of a routine deployment, the cybersecurity company recently deployed a driver update for its Falcon Sensor, the core component of the Falcon platform that acts as a lightweight agent and provides important security features to devices. However, after the deployment, many computers displayed a blue screen with error message 0x50 or 0x7E, causing the computers to reboot in a loop.

The biggest problem is that this system is used by more than half of the Fortune 500 companies and serves various sectors including finance, government, healthcare, education, and more, and this flawed update ultimately caused a worldwide disruption.
