Windows 10 Anniversary Update (official release): Hands-on experience with new features and changes
Although the name "Anniversary Update" is a clear clue, Microsoft has never officially announced when exactly the new version of the operating system will arrive to customers. Today, a new report from Thurrott says that Microsoft representatives have "confirmed" that development of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is expected to be completed in mid-July.
While the company is proactively working to meet the deadline, delays are always possible, so the schedule may change in the future. However, since Windows 10's original release date was July 29, it only makes sense that the "Anniversary Update" would be released on the same day, which is a Friday in 2016.
If you've been following the development of the Anniversary Update, you're probably already familiar with many of the features and changes Microsoft plans to release later this summer. Especially if you've had a chance to test Windows 10 Build 14328 and Build 14316, which introduced a number of new improvements and features such as an updated Start menu, new features for Cortana, Action Center and the Settings app, and Windows Ink.
